Microsoft/USAF: Hololens AR Maintenance Tool
Microsoft needed a partner to pitch the US Air Force on a Hololens augmented reality application. The main selling point was a digitial thread which showed aircraft maintenance history via a 3D rendered model. Also critical to the success of this project was a seamless SMA (Subject Matter Assist) where a remote specialist could assist the onsite technician via video interface and ink back.
After several iterations of flows and wireframes, a holistic solution was created.
The wireframes were integrated into a functional prototype.
Both Microsoft and USAF were incredibly pleased with the final outcome. They expanded the experience into a larger presentation and incorporated future phases into the project.
