Distributed Object Matrix for Information Network Operations
Space Force needed a document management system to organize three types of files that are produced on fixed intervals by CSpOC (Combined Space Operation Center): CSTOs, MSPs, and SODs. Users would be able to customize the tool so they only see the files they are interested in (as well as for classification purporses.
The first step was mapping the proposed application:
After multiple onsite interviews with CSpOC military personnel, I unearthed the primary organizing structure for the three document types.
Based on the onsite takeaways, I determined that the UX solution lay in featuring areas to clearly surface the three types of files. Additionally a simple way to upload would be needed.
After a robust design exploration, the final application was built and continues to be in use today.
